The plant in Klucze was established in 1897 and is one of the oldest, but still leading manufacturers of paper products in Poland.
Its products were first recognised with an award in 1924 at the World Exhibition in Paris.
In the 20 years between the wars, it was well known to everyone also as a manufacturer of school exercise books.
After World War II, it was expanded and modernised.
In 1976, we launched the most modern Voith paper machine at the time that produced tissue paper that could then be turned into toilet paper, paper towels and tissues.
Twenty years later, we became part of the American company International Paper, thanks to which the Polish team gained the knowledge and experience necessary to compete in world markets.
In 1997, on the centenary of the plant, we launched the Velvet brand – a pioneer in its category, focusing on intensive marketing and after-sales activity. Three years after its introduction, Velvet was already the undisputed market leader.
In 2003, there was another change in owner when the company began to operate under Kimberly Clark, a world leader in hygiene products.
A decade later, in 2013, senior managers together with the investment fund Avalon MBO II decided to continue to operate under the name Velvet CARE, based on the name of the flagship product of the company.
Nearly 120 years of experience and in particular 18 years of experience with global corporations have allowed the company to deepen its production and business knowledge and this has become a part of the modern system of operation of our company.
